Temple's Kornberg School of Dentistry has launched one of Philadelphia's largest dental sedation centers to address patient care needs in the region. Located at Broad Street and Allegheny Avenue, the facility features four operating rooms and provides sedation levels ranging from light to general anesthesia.

The center serves patients with special needs, children, and others requiring sedation during dental procedures. According to Kornberg Dean Amid Ismail, the facility eliminates transportation barriers for patients: "This provides opportunities for specialists to provide care and for patients to see the whole continuum of care." Dental anesthesiologist Stanley Heleniak directs the center, bringing 30 years of experience from private practice.

Staffed by Kornberg faculty, the center accepts referrals from area dentists and welcomes new patients. Heleniak described the facility as exceptional for a dental school in Philadelphia, following approximately two years of development. The sedation center actively serves the broader community and provides expanded appointment scheduling for prospective patients.
